Anyone seen this movie?

Greetings,

I'm currently researching a book on Houdini and would like to get in contact with anyone who has seen this movie or might know how I could obtain a copy. Also interested in any information, memorabilia, or recollections of this movie.

Thanks in advance :)

As of 2015 all that is known to exist of this film is a five minute clip. Hopefully sometime in the future it will be found.

There was a full copy (71m) found and restored, and it will be shown in Madison WI on April 16 @ 6pm as part of the Wisconsin Film Festival.

Apparently the restoration is premiering at the 2015 TCM Classic Film Festival held Thursday, March 26 - Sunday, March 29, 2015, in Hollywood http://houdini.org/houdinigrimgameuncoveredbyhoudinimuseum.html

Hope you are not too far from one or the other, John!

I just saw it on TCM and thought it was great! It's hard to believe they were already making movies this good almost a hundred years ago. It's an interesting story. The plot would still work today and the stunts, action scenes, and fights would keep modern audiences, many of whom seem to only care about things like that, content.

I’m glad this copy was found and restored because I would have never believed such movies were in production that early in the history of film. Naturally people had been staging plays for hundreds of years but movies are very different. There are location shots, indoor, outdoor, aerial stunts, good writing, camera work and direction. Plays are very wordy but silent movies could not get away with that.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
