I just saw the IMDB daily trivia and it said that this film was the first NC-17 film. I haven't seen this, but I would be interested if someone could tell me why this film has been rated NC-17 as it doesn't seem particularly inappropriate, but i guess that was back in 1919. Anyway, any hlp would be much appreciated.

The link must be wrong, Henry & June was the first film w/the nc-17 rating.

Nobody is actually sure which was the first film rated NC-17, but Henry and June was the first film released with it. As far as this being NC-17, thats a blatant lie formed by somebody possibly as a gimmick to sell some.

Other websites list the movie as Not Rated, so I submitted the information to IMDB and as of today the rating was changed to NR.

Yeah, there's no way a film from 1919 is going to have an NC-17 rating. It's a decent movie, no nudity, no cussing, maybe 1 kiss.
