What AlonzoTheArmless said. Very impressed with Mary Pickford. She was terrific, I wouldn’t even know she plays both roles if it weren’t for the title cards. I love the fact that John is pretty much the damsel in distress in the film, in the hands of a ruthless spouse, and the women, Stella Maris and Unity, were the ones who had to set him free. Quite progressive for the era, I think. The little subplot with the dogs is charming and the tracking shot at the end concludes the picture wonderfully. Splendid stuff!
