Just an Interesting Historical Tidbit

"Mickey" was running at the Olympic Theater (the old Olympic Grand Opera House) in Amarillo on November 27, 1919. There were about 1800 people watching when a fire started. Thanks to the efforts of the organist and the manager, along with the projectionist who kept the film going until the screen caught fire, everyone got out of the hotel safely, albeit into a -4 degree weather that made icicles on things several feet long. As it was, no one got to see the end of that film because Olympic was the only theater in town.
