I'm glad they restored this early silent as I like the look they had,so different from now.Mabel is wonderful in this,and the story is interesting.Parts are funny,especially her greedy,conniving,relatives,the expressions and greed are priceless.Like the animals in this feature,also.Why did they make so many keyhole shots,back then?
shareWill you tell me when did you see a restored version, please? I just purchased this movie on DVD (Grapevine Video) from Amazon at nearly $20 and now I regret having done so. The print quality is just terrible. I'd dare to say only 50% or so is acceptable and kind of watchable. Wish I had bought the much cheaper Alpha version instead.
I wonder why other companies such as Milestone or Kino haven't taken care of this with a proper and much deserved restoration work. This is a true classic, and deserves the same treatment as others of the silent period.
