There is something very weird here. This movie just barely came out and only people who love silent films, especially foreign silent films, would watch it. SO suddenly there are 71 #1 votes. Did IMDB hand this out to idiots who had to interrupt their video games to watch it? Why would they even watch something they have no interest in? Why would they vote on it? Don't tell me these are valid votes from educated voters.

IMDB, your credibility is going down the tubes. Look at the high ratings for Spiderman 3, among others.

They are females of 30 years and older. I'm also wondering why they would watch this in the first place.

I know...it's ridiculous. My only guess is that they hate all that is what they call 'old' and give films ratings without even watching the film. Otherwise, this film deserves a much higher rating...it's so meditative and so touching.

I`m sure these 1/10 are "valid" alright - in the sense that the folks who `would` rate it without having seen the film, haven`t, in all likelihood, even heard of it. It`s not like it`s rivalling the Nolan blockbusters or anything...

There is, and for a longtime has been, something weird going on with votes.

There seems to be a block of 'voters' who claim to be female 40+ who submit large numbers of '1' votes. It has been commented on for ages.

They are probably false, and think that female 40+sounds more respectable, more honest and reliable than (say) male 18 ish.

Why? Some people think there is a bunch of people who have got together to crush scores on some films so others can get into the top 250.. who knows.
Sometimes you begin to suspect more dark forces at work.. Look up most serious Holocaust films (Shoah for example).. you will find huge numbers of '1' votes. Really? Lots of people dedicate 8 hours of their lives to watch that and then trashed it?.. Or am I being paranoid in suspecting the deniers are out in force?
