Different but enjoyable

Most of the reviews of this movie on IMDb are positive but a couple refer to parts of the movie as "creepy", which I cannot begin to fathom. I'll agree that there isn't a well-defined plot — it's more in the nature of a Rebeccan rhapsody, one might say. And I must admit I was expecting "Mr. Aladdin" to woo Aunt Jane but once I got over the fact that this isn't a "premake" of the 1938 Shirley Temple version I was OK with the outcome. ☺ Apart from that, this movie has some beautiful moments of humor that make it rather special, albeit not in the same class as some of Mary's other movies.
