Still being sold?

I can't find the blu ray of The Birth of a Nation anywhere...

Not on main streaming platforms either...

reply

How about the DVD? I can't seat being upgraded to blu-ray for various reasons

reply

I can't find that either... Only the remake... Odd...

reply

Not really odd. It's modern book burning.

reply

I'd imagine simply from a film history view there would be several high quality releases of it, with commentary and such.

reply

You seem to be very naïve or perhaps live in a sane country. I don't mean either as an insult.

reply

Yeah, it's not the same here... I understand the current American establishment sensibility about these things... But I can find some other spicy historical movies on iTunes, not this one...

The thing is, I would expect to find it abroad, but it doesn't seem to be stocked internationally either. I guess it's a mix of it being forbidden and very old/obscure.

reply

What you are looking for would be produced by Americans, which is among the reasons you can't find it. Old/obscure movies can usually be found somewhere.

This film may be on YouTube.

Movies like this are deemed racist because they depict racism. Once again modern book burning. We don't like the subject matter, so you can't see/read it. Books were NOT burned by the Nazi party, but by a student group deciding what people should be able to read. The new America.

reply

True... I'm sure I can find it elsewhere, even though I would have preferred a proper copy.

Thanks...

It's available on Amazon.

Thanks!

reply

Oops. That debunks a lot of what I said. Enjoy

reply

It's understandable, given what we've seen lately.
