Would this movie have been better if it wasn't so black and white?

I just realized that I didn't mean to intend a pun when I say that. But basically in the movie, all the white people are represented as "good", and all the black people are "terrorizing rebels" pretty much.

But if they were to have some black characters who did not believe in the uprising, or if they were to have some white people who understood why the black people were giving them payback, I think it could have made for a better story, that explored its themes better.

I mean I was watching Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which is a strange comparison. But in that movie, some humans sympathized with the cause of the good hearted apes, and not all the apes were on the same side. Same with the humans, all not being on the side of one against the others.

What do you think?

I think so.

And on that note, that's one the problems I had with Roots and certain other inverse "black and white" pictures. At least the newer version of the miniseries changed things up a bit.
