Discrepancy in figures on this page.

One point states the budget for this film was $5,700. But in the Trivia section, it says the film was made for $57,000. This is a big discrepancy! Which is correct?

According to the book Fifty Great American Silent Films by Anthony Slide & Edward Wagenknecht this film cost only $5,700 to produce. The money was put up by director Herbert Brenon, actor King Baggott, and others. Fifty-seven thousand is definitely a typo -- in 1913 that kind of money could have financed a major costume drama or several feature films like this one, i.e. a contemporary story with a few simple sets.

I've fixed the erroneous trivia note and submitted the change to IMDb's editors.

I think they must have been quite budget conscious in the production of this film. Did you happen to notice on one of the intertitle cards, there was a black housefly scurrying about on the right side of the card? I guess they didn't think it worthwhile to reshoot that card. lol

Also, earlier in the film, one of the procurers is down at the dockside to lure some woman, and a police officer intervenes and rudely shoves him away. If you watch closely just before the policeman shoves the guy, you will see another woman in the background briefly enter the scene, look at the camera, then suddenly realize that she's not supposed to be there. She hastily backs out of the scene. Then the action with the policeman shoving the guy takes place, and voila, the aforementioned woman NOW makes her scheduled pass-by in the background, right on cue this time. I guess they didn't want to spend money on reshooting that scene. lol
