Lorna Barton

Does anyone know where the kidnapped sister's name comes from? She's only introduced as Mary's sister and is never referred to by name in the movie, yet she's referred to as 'Lorna' throughout all the criticism i've read about it. how did that start?

Possibly so-named in the screenplay without being indicated in the film's narrative / dialogue cards.

Okay folks, show's over, nothing to see here!

And yet, doesn't iMDB always state to go by the official billing in the film itself? How can a screenplay or anything other than the film itself be used to get a character's name?

reply

Well, another possibility might be that the print we've seen (at least, the one I saw on TCM) may not include naming Lorna while other prints (if they still exist) do. (He said, hanging tightly and precariously at the end of the limb.)
