Did David Fincher's Seven copy to Fantomas?

I cant say it with certainty but...
the episode of the false fingerprint left by the serial killer in Se7en remember to me so much this picture. It happens the same thing. Fantomas kills a man and he uses his fingerprint to divert investigation about his theft of the princess necklace.
I didnt find anything on web that talk about this connection... so... I dont know if it's just casuality or a quotation or right a stolen idea.
