I have been watching these early films on the excellent boxed set done by KINO.
I was so wrapped up in this film, that when Bobby finally got his kiss at the end, I spontaneously applauded.
That is the REAL magic of these movies, to still move a person after all these many years.
God Bless Miss Lillian Gish for helping preserve them.
I just purchased the KINO's Griffith boxed-set, and saw some of the shorts included on it last night. This one was really special, and I felt like I was attendind a very important, historical event, since it was the great Lillian Gish's screen debut. It was a magical moment when she appeared on screen and even kind of gave me goosebumps.
