Further to my post dated 20th April 2006 (God that seems so very long ago!) I have finally managed to see this film although it has proved one of the most elusive so far (thank God for Ebay! :o)
Anyway at the last meal of Petronius who was the unlucky female character who also had her wrist slit & died with the aforementioned? Was it Eunice or Lygia?
Sorry if I appear really thick but the print I saw was not the best!

Sorry you had to wait so long for a reply. It's Eunice who commits suicide with Petronius. Lygia is involved with Petronius' nephew Marcus. Watch MGM's 1951 version (the best) and all will be clear.
