Did the Father know his son was addicted?

It seems as though he did see his son taking a pinch of cocaine and putting it into his drink and, on top of that, seemed to be glad or at least didn't mind that his son was using.

Did he realize the extent of his addiction and just never do anything?

late anwser but still...

no, he didnt. he had left that glass of carbonated sugar water without the cocaine in it. all he saw was the son drinking from the glass. he didnt know the son had added in the cocaine (because he adds it in himself. There was no cocaine in the glass to begin with).
