Not quite "restored" because it still has AD's annoying watermarks in the corners.
"If you don't know the answer -change the question."
I have another print of the film. I'm in the process getting it restored and handing the finished copy over to a museum. I'm working with a distributer (The film is in the public domain.) to get it released without the trademark Alois Detlaff put on all of his prints. I've got some musicians working on a possible soundtrack for the film and getting the title cards made up to match the film WITHOUT again Alois Detlaff’s initials all over the place. Or mine, or ..... whomever's.
And I’m not giving any info on the print to anyone associated with Alois Detlaff to “catalog”. It’s going to be cataloged and stored by a film museum.
And the film is going to stay in the public domain. This time, no person is going to urinate all over the film with their name or trademark.
So how did this work out? There is still only the watermarked and zoom/cropped versions in circulation.
