Biden/Buttigieg ticket will win

indeed

reply

Too white and too male for the modern democratic party.

reply

Too male and white to get the nomination I will concede. To get elected is another story.

reply

Do you know how American politics works?

reply

I have no idea what I meant when I typed that.

reply

"I have no idea what I meant when I typed that."

Trump does that everyday on twitter, so don't feel bad.

reply

What I may have meant is Pete is too white, too male ( and not gay enough) for the Dems, but a ticket with Biden and him might win because independents and some conservatives would vote for them over Trump.

The irony being the Dems would rather lose than run white males who could win.

reply

My whole point was that if they're not nominated, no way they can run. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Today I saw that whatizname started trying to throw some lefty red meat to the base in hopes of rising in the polls. I think he's peaked. He seemed to think that being gay was going to be his ticket to win. Nope. It takes more than that.

I think most people are going to think Biden is moderate. He used to be somewhat, but I remember who he served with. He'll run as Obama II, even though he doesn't want Obama campaigning for him. Then if he gets the nomination, he'll try to move center. That's where Hillary went wrong. Her husband tried to tell her how to campaign, but she knows everything, so she wouldn't listen. But that IS how you campaign, on both sides -- Republicans need to be ultra-conservative in the primaries, and more centrist in the general.

reply

Until 2016, every Democratic nominee has been both White and male.

reply

Yeah, so few white males have been the nominee for either the Dems or GOPigs!

reply

I like that ticket. The VP role many might be a step down, responsibility-wise, for all the Senators in the race. For Buttigieg, the VP role would be a chance to scale up his exec experience on the national level, and prep him for another presidential bid one day. Kamala Harris would make a great AG.

reply

Delete you last sentence and you got it right. Harris is a clown.

reply

The more I learn about Harris' record as a prosecutor, the less I respect her.

Her draconian championing of the law jailing parents for the truancy of their kids is unfathomable. That she blatantly lied and filibustered when asked if she had any regrets about her record on that CNN town hall a week ago was hard not to notice. She said no one had ever been jailed when she actually subjected parents to perp walks before she jailed them.

👏🏼

Biden if he got nominated would have to choose a very weak VP, like Buttigieg ... because Biden himself was a very weak VP to Obama. If Biden is the best the Democrats can do it will be a sleepy campaign and election until the day after when everyone will again wonder how Mafia Don got elected again.

reply

You need to get ready for Trump's reelection. The dems are going to insure as they did in 2016. No one living in the real world wonders about why he won then or why he will win in 2020 - Bad candidates who out of touch with the populace. Candidates so bad they make Trump look acceptable.

reply

You're ignorant. You think the Dems are going to buy "insurance"? You mean ensure. I tell you, Trump votets are just plain stupid.

reply

I am willing to concede ensure would have been the better choice. However, according to Merrim-Webster , assure, insure, and ensure are interchangeable in some contexts and this would apply. Before calling someone ignorant, you might want to check MW first.

insure:
- to make certain especially by taking necessary measures and precautions

It's honest that you admitted a mistake, but then you tried to walk it back. The thing is that the Democrats did not take any necessary steps ... that means willfully. There is no sarcasm build into that definition, so it really doesn't fit.

It appears that Trump has the same support as he did and it is strong, and maybe looks as though he will be re-elected, but that is because the right-wing media and the many loud voices that keep talking in support of him. In reality many, many people can see this country getting worse, they see his incompetence, they see the absolutely horrible appointments he has made. They also see tons of lies, and broken promises.

Also, turnout was very bad when he got elected that is probably not going to be repeated. More people are turning away from Trump than have changed their minds towards him. Those are the major factors whatever the loud boviating voices say.
