Over the last year or so Dua Lipa definitely took up the pop star throne from every other female artist including Billie. She made a bigger and more successful impact than her by a good margin with her latest album. Dua Lipa is the future and the pop star to beat right now. No other is on her level.
shareDua is more of what of what embodies a "pop star" to me. Billie is extraordinary at what she does (or should I say her brother) - but I see Billie is more of a Fiona Apple. A bit quirky, sullen, dark, etc. She will have a hit pop into the Top 40 every now and then but like Fiona - she is her own animal.
shareYes I think someone like Billie will have success here and there but Dua Lipa will have more ongoing and constant success. She made a big splash right out of the gate and her latest album pushed her to the top. Her next era will be when she fully cements herself.
