Best child actor I have ever seen

This young boy has given his all to his role in Lion. Overcoming the issue of not being able to speak a word of English and learning while filming this movie. He has an ability to make us see what he is trying to portray with ease. Absolutely amazing this young boy is. Will keep an eye on his future for sure.

What a wonderful performance. Yes we're all wishing the best for Sunny Pewar...he is the consumate "child actor" with the world of opportunity before him. Pray he is protected from the "sharks" and exploiters on both U.S. coasts.

I second everyone else in their comments and add that Sunny is simply adorable and was absolutely brilliant in Lion. Hope to see lots more from him.

Overcoming the issue of not being able to speak a word of EnglishWhat issue is that? Movie actors need to speak English?

and learning while filming this movie.Learning what? He doesn't speak any English in the movie... unless you mean peppah. What are you talking about?

reply

Well, when you need to be directed by a director who speaks only English & mostly everyone else who doesn't speak your primary tongue, it's not that easy... As for learning, probably bits of English. Also, he became child actor overnight, after being found & cast... Maybe learning the ropes, etc... I was born abroad, having moved here around 12 years of age... My son is in acting... He was 6 at the time... That's hard not to understand much, being pointed here & there and doing your job... Heck, sometimes behaving is not easy at that age... My child is currently 6.5. He was born here... While based on what I read, Sunny & my child (Adam) would get along via signals by hands, giggles and tablet, there is a huge difference in knowing 4-5 words & being born here & understanding/speaking the language.

I'm guessing they're referring to the fact that he would be directed by and acting with a whole lot of people who on speak english. That would be very difficult for anyone, especially a child.

Completely agree. The last time a child actor's performance made me cry this much was Dakota Fanning in I am Sam. I really hope his career really picks up when he is a bit older/more able to handle that world and all the side effects of being famous.

Pray he is protected from the "sharks" and exploiters...

Amen to that!🙏
