reply

Yeah, that one's got a very odd obsessive compulsion to say that to people on here on a regular basis. It just makes him(?) look weird.

reply

hmmm, I'll have to keep that in mind.

"lol" doesn't bother me but I am getting a bit miffed at people doing the heart sign with their hands on twitter and on other platforms.

Here's a picture of it... seriously, if you're over 14, you really shouldn't be doing this. sorry if you do it.. lol...

reply

I do have a name you know... Why "lol" is used in so many posts is beyond me, totally pointless and just plain lazy.

reply

Poopsey1:

You
Are
Strange

reply

Lazy?

It takes more effort to add extra characters to the end of a sentence. LOL

reply

What is the point of typing "lol" at the end of your post?

reply

Not that you don't already know this, but it is a way of connotating that you found something funny.

reply

I went and reviewed Poopsey1's reply history, and over half of their replies are ripping people apart for using LOL. It's insane.

reply

Oh, I know. It's pretty constant. May be on the spectrum to obsess so much over one single fairly insignificant thing like that. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

reply

I confess I get pissed off from time to time with YOUR vs. YOU'RE, but I don't go obsessing about it and pulling every single person over in my Grammar-Police car.

reply

I don't go obsessing about it and pulling every single person over in my Grammar-Police car.

Good thing you don't. It's a bad look.

reply

I get it, but I think it's extremely ignorant that people don't know YOU'RE supposed to recall YOUR 3rd grade grammar lessons.

reply

A lot of times now online or in texting I've noticed that when typing, autocorrect will actually do that sometimes. And then even more often I noticed while doing voice typing it will come up like that. Many times I've had to go back and edit something because the wrong version of the word would come up. Now I'm not saying people don't confuse the those kind of words because of course they do but yeah, a lot of times it's the autocorrect and the voice typing. It will just come up whatever it wants to come up with the "your" words and the "their" words.

reply

Duly noted. That being said, before I post something on the Internet, or send an email, I always proof-read it. I guess many do not. I understand the frustration trying to fix an auto-corrected word though; sometimes the f'ing phone just doesn't let you. And I get that phones don't have cursors like PCs do.

I do most of my online social media on a PC and keyboard, must less prone to errours, LOL.
