Nepotism!

That is truly a stupid remark to make . . . Because many, many families have a seemingly genetic predisposition to a particular creative area and, therefore, you will find numerous relatives in their current and past family history who have pursued related career paths.

My immediate family includes several very successful, well-known musicians as well as talented artists, writers and designers. And, in researching our family heritage, we have identified at least two dozen successful musicians, singers, band leaders, composers, songwriters and entertainers
in just the past century. I was born with a very good voice and excellent musical
abilities as was my sister.

Though I didn't choose to pursue being a singer or performer, I have worked extensively in and around the music and entertainment business throughout my career, utilizing my innate abilities and sensibilities in music as well as other skill sets I have developed. My older sister did pursue a
career in music, beginning in
her teens. She has had a long
and very successful career as
a well-known singer and performer as well as an
actress. Her son, my nephew,
is a VERY famous, successful
singer/songwriter/producer.

It would be totally ridiculous for anyone to suggest that someone in our family was guilty of depending on 'nepotism' for pursuing a career in music or the arts. That is the primary area of interest for many in our family and we are all very proud and thankful that we were born with these talents.
Clearly, Taissa is talented in acting as is her sister, Vera. What a wonderful gift they both have and how great that Vera had the foresight to encourage her younger sister to try acting.

Congratulations to Taissa on her success thus far and I
hope she continues to have opportunities to explore
her natural abilities!!

Yes, maybe so, but the acting world - especially the movie world - is riffed with people who have careers who, before they even entered, had connection. May it be parents, siblings or aunts or uncles. Case in point Kristen Stewart. If you think she's "truly great" (as one critic puts it) you're damn fool. Robert Pattinson? Like Stewart the man needs a role basically catered to him aka Don't Do Much, Just Stand There and Mumble Some Lines in order for him to be "good."

I also don't think something like acting would be considered "genetic predisposition." Music I can back-up, but acting? Nah. Music is closer to, say, athletic talent or even intelligence. Acting is just playing pretend -- either can pretend good enough in front of a screen or you can't.

She was going to be an accountant before her sister dragged her into it. Nepotism in Hollywood is way out of control.It's all about who you know. Actually hard workers that got there from nowhere are rare. Gwyneth Paltrow is the biggest example of talent less nepotism and one of the most hated celebrities. She ruined so many movies and that Oscar was laughable.

You're so full of crap. So you're saying some acting,music,etc is getting passed down through families so its not nepotism? If you go into these industries alone and nobody know show you are then that's one thing.But don't ride the coattails of a successful family member and then pass it off as some great ability.You could go to Julliard or plenty of music schools with people that could put a lot of people in the industry to shame.But a lot of them won't get to the heights of the people with the right connections. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg got to where they were because of connections.Bill Gates mother introduced him to the head of IBM.Plenty don't have those connections and get screwed.

She only got two films because of Vera. TWO. She isn't Emma Roberts or Nicola Peltz who are terrible actresses and only get work because of family connections. Nepotism can only get you that far.

Taissa had connections for the Beatty project. One of the producers of that project also produced Running Scared, which starred Vera. Vera has stated that Taissa didnt even know who Warren Beatty is, she was texting and asking Vera who he was.

Jason Blum produced Insidious and worked with James Wan who directed both Insidious and The Conjouring. Blum also produced In A Valley of Violence..

Nicole Daniels and Courtney Sheinen were the casting directors for Bling Ring, as well Goats..which starred Vera

At Middleton obviously starred Vera and Taissa together

Carly Hugo produced Higher Ground, and also Share, a short film with Taissa

Vera recommended Taissa for the role in Anna to a man she had worked with on The Conjouring

Amanda Johnson was the casting director for both Jamesy Boy and Dummy..which starred Vera

Probably more my ass she hasn't gotten more roles than other people in hollywood that have connections and family members in the biz. So you need to stop with this crap. Everyone has connections in Hollywood. They work with who they like and get along with.
