His Acting As FN2187

Even with the stormtrooper gear, his talent shined. SPOILER -- When his comrade dies at the village you can see the affect it has on him. His subtle movements are timed perfectly. That's a great actor! Also, his body language and facial expressions while using the blaster on the TIE-fighter and the Millennium Falcon was gold. The Man has a 3rd Eye a la Philip S. Hoffman.

He's amazingly talented. I think his acting in TFA is so underrated due to flaws in the character's conceptualization, I'd almost go as far as to say that Finn easily could have flopped in the hands of a lesser actor

reply

I agree. He brings energy and a more natural human response to adversity i can relate with.

I have wondered if Finn repeating lines a lot was actually in the script or just what Boyega does?

I guess one would have to refer to a script or novelization to find out. I have neither. I have neither. I HAVE neither.
Get it?
Boyega(or Finn) style.

I didn't notice a lot of line repetition. I only remember this happening twice. 1. When Finn is using the Falcon blaster he says "come on, come on". That's a very common saying when people are under pressure. Then after he sees Kylo carrying Rey he starts running and says "No, hell no". Again that's normal.

reply

Actually he may have said "come on" only once. I'll need a 13th viewing to confirm.

His acting was good, but I thought it was pretty weird that pretty much everyone had a British accent except him...I mean, he's British!

reply

I agree. Casting him and Daisy Ridley together was brilliant. It brought back the character chemistry that was missing in the Anakin/Padme' batch. Even before the old timers made their appearance, I was into The Force Awakens. Credit to Boyega & Ridley.

What chemistry? They had no chemistry. It was hard to see if FInn was into Rey or they both were into each other or what the hell was going on with those two. It was the same in Rogue One. Two films that don't know what they want and the chemistry was nowhere to be seen.
