It really disapointing me as well. She really won me over as Sarah Connor, and I was so looking forward to more of her.
By the time another instalment is made I suspect she will be too old, I am certain that Swarzenegger will be.
I know how you feel, studios do that often. They only care about the BO numbers. I bet Andrew Garfield was pissed at Sony when 3 & 4th sequel of TASM were cancelled.

shareNo it turned a profit (taking overseas BO into account) from what I understand the problem was that the profit was small enough that they were worried the sequels would flop.
They talked about changing the direction for a while but I suppose they couldn't decide what to change, I certainly don't know what should have been changed as I really loved it.

I kinda enjoyed Genisys more than I thought I would, it was miles better than Terminator 3 and Salvation.

They did add that little easter egg, but I think the world is done with Terminator. Yes, it made some money and I am hoping to buy it to go along with T1 & T2 in my collection once the price drops, and she was great in it, but they put a nice bow on the story. I felt, anyway...though it was panned by most moviegoers.
shareFans of original are thickskinned, they just can't accept change. Some of them are stuck in the 80s and they don't want to see their favorites characters tarnished in a hollow Hollywood cash grab but not all remakes and reboots are bad, they are originally intended to bring back the fans and also to attract an audience who haven't seen the original Plus, even when a remake fails, it can still reignite interest in a fading franchise. I don't see why the fantrolls of original detest remakes in their favorite franchise instead of celebrating over the return of their favorite characters. IMO, Sarah Conner was better portrayed by Emilia than grumpy Linda. I thought Lena did great too.
