Why wasn't he touring and promoting MBY?

It seemed like Emilia Clarke was doing all the touring and promoting by herself for "Me Before You" without her co-star, Sam Claflin. Anyone know if it was because he was unexpectedly delayed due to a personal problem or just couldn't get time away since he's busy filming something else? It seemed like they were meant to be together at the various North American premieres but because of some last minute reason she ended up alone on that promo leg.

It was a filming issue. He even missed/was super late to some of the promotion there in London, where he lives, because of it. He kept posting apologies on social media at the time.
