Death Note

I read somewhere that Netflix was considering offering Keith for a role in the new live-action Death Note movie. I think this could be great. I also wonder if he would play L?

reply

I actually find this interesting.

Of all the people in the world, I would not have thought of Keith for the role of L. After watching Atlanta, and seeing how he's blowing up, and how amazing he is, I can see it now. I would love to see how he would bring some juice to the role. I saw the 'Death Note' anime, the movies, and the recent TV Show, and it's usually some intense socially awkward dork playing the role of the amazing detective. Keith has that offbeat flavor that would work great.

reply

Yeah, after watching him in Atlanta I could see him playing L.

reply

I mean I know he wouldn't, but I pictured a guy like Jared Leto playing L.

Whats my favourite episode of Breaking Bad you ask?
The one where Jesse says Bitch.

reply

"Keith has that offbeat flavor that would work great." yes that flavor is call black or political correctness.

reply

Uh, no---its called having a real strong onscreen presence with real talent. Which has nothing to do with whatever the hell you're whining about.

reply

i bet you have no problem with the white washing in the upcoming ghost in shell movie though, do you? a a lot of white people love being hypocritical when it comes to things like this.

reply

Yes i have, i was hoping for asia chick, not 'black widow' :/

Stanfield just starred in the comedy horror film Haunted Mansion, and has another movie coming out called The Book Of Clarence, a period comedy in which he stars as a fish-selling guy who decided to join Jesus and his apostles. He also stars in an upcoming horror drama series called The Changeling for Apple TV: https://www.avclub.com/the-changeling-review-apple-tv-plus-lakeith-stanfield-1850796226
