Yes, very good looking, but ...

Perhaps it's just me, and I know I'm running the risk of an awful lot of flak in posting this. I'd like to know other opinions, though.

I have only ever seen Lara Pulver in 2 things - 'Robin Hood', which was basically a self-mocking spoof, fun, but hardly weighty drama, and 'Spooks'. And while she is very good-looking, and no doubt a very pleasant young woman, her acting in the latter was absolutely dreadful. She was clearly way out of her depth, was so overshadowed by Peter Firth, Nicola Walker and Geoffrey Streatfield that it was painful and often embarrassing to watch. Fortunately for her, she was on screen most of the time with Max Brown, who wasn't much better.

Can anyone recommend me anything else she might have been in? I don't want to condemn on the basis of six episodes of one show, but this has made me very wary of watching her again in anything else ...

I think she's an awful actress, too. Absolutely ruined "A Scandal in Belgravia". I wish the Sherlock team cast someone better :(

I think you saw somethong different from me. I thought the episode was brilliant. the chemistry unbeleivable. I have to watch it again. Tantalizing!

I've only seen her in a brief role in True Blood before Sherlock, and I thought she did a good job as Irene Adler. She reminded me of Eva Green.

what a coincidence! i always thought her adler to holmes was like how vesper lynd was to james bond in CASINO ROYALE. and vesper was played by eva green.

And interestingly now she is playing the woman who will be Ian Flemming's wife in the new series about Flemming.

I think she does a pretty good job in 'Da Vinci's Demons' but I've never seen her in anything else.
