I wonder if the president select will sniff her..... wait... she's too old.

reply

What is that suppose to mean, please explain.

reply

Biden kissed his granddaughter on the head. A lot of memes say he was sniffing her.

reply

There are TONS of pictures of creepy, old, Beijing Biden sniffing and touching kids and others. It wasn't an isolated incident.

reply

You mean you don't know what that means?

reply

She nailed it!

Okay, she was a little pitchy, but our flag IS still here, so is our constitutional democracy, and that's what matters.

reply

i thought it was good.

reply

I thought she nailed it. She got a little theatrical with the mic and her body language, but that's Gaga for you. She seemed a little self critical when she was done, like she didn't think she was good, but that's probably why she is good, because she holds herself to a high standard.

reply

Being theaterical was appropriate to the occasion, and for a song that everyone's heard at least a billion times before.

reply

No doubt. I liked the dress too, and the brooch. She's quite the character.

reply

Her outfit was just right - warm, unusal, slighly outrageous but not too much, and I really liked the huge dove-of-peace pin.

She really got it all right, she even made a song that we've all heard ten billion times seem fresh and meaningful. Very few singers can pull that off.

reply

As good as she was, I feel like Amanda Gorman stole the show. Her poem was transcendent.

reply

Isn't that known as false modesty?

reply

The bird pin on her dress was too large IMO.

reply

I don't watch many presidential inaugurations but is it usual for a celebrity singer to sing the anthem? Are dare I say it, presidential inaugurations becoming more commercialised now? Maybe they'll eventually have a half time show where a singer gets to perform a few tracks for a bit?

reply

The whole sorry mess had more (quote) "Musical Tributes" than speakers (and such classy luminaries as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brookes)
I'm surprised 'Uncle Jo(k)e didn't invite Cardi B (and her seaping vagina) to the event (for a touch of weell-needed class?)

Just as well they had a pandemic as an excuse for zero crowds. Although had anyone in attendance contracted Covid 19, my sympathies would have been for the disease.

Either way, I hope the government have reset the Covid death toll now that Biden is in charge....as it'll be interesting to see who the media is going to blame, now that Trump is out of office?

reply

No. This was really weird. Mostly started with Obama with the melding together of the entertainment industry with government. In this particular ceremony, I think it was a big F U to Trump cause he couldn't get any big name guests to perform at his inauguration and Biden was flexing.

reply

Apparently this goes back to Franklin D Roosevelt and at one time Frank Sinatra virtually ran the whole process no matter who the president was. I suspect Obama, and now Biden, were overwhelmed by offers to perform by the biggest of big names.

reply

She was phenomenal

reply

Agreed. Strong, heartfelt and a little bit theatrical. Classic Gaga 👌

reply

She, by herself, was almost as many people who showed up to watch the inauguration in person. The official White House Youtube feed had so many dislikes and negative comments, they had to suspend it.
