Got what she deserved

Back in the late 2000's and early 2010's she stole lyrics and even fashion ideas and hair styles from several underground artists. Copying them and pretending she came up with these ideas herself. One of them being the Estonian singer ''Kerli'' but there was another woman who really complained about her stealing her ideas too. Contrary to belief Lady Gaga did not write the majority of her music either. Given all of this I could not but feel terribly sorry for these other girls while Gaga kept climbing to the top with their ''look'' they were left in the dust.

It's nice to know in 2018 that she got exactly what she deserved. She has entirely faded from the public concern. She is but a bad memory. Thank goodness.

I know nothing of these allegations, but I have thought it interesting her star burned out so quickly like so many current pop stars (thank God we don't hear much about the android Nicki Minaj anymore). I used to think she had talent at least in creating well-produced dance songs, but I began to lose all interest after the forgettable "Born This Way" album. Now she's forced to sing torch song duets with Tony Bennett for the octogenarian slot-players in Vegas.

reply

Yeah, she was forced to be on an album that debuted at Number One. By the way, Cheek To Cheek is not a torch song. An example of a torch song is Adele’s overproduced and overbearing attempt at an anthem, Hello.

reply

Tony Bennet is class. That's the thing about making it big and being successful, get to pick and choose what you like to focus on, like in Lady Gaga's case. She is talented, no doubt about it, even if changing gears to get her noticed meant using less of her singing abilities.

Ozzy Osbourne expressed concern to her years ago not to oversaturate herself like what happened to him, according to his own words.

She is worth 275 million and will be nominated for an Oscar this year. Are you saying that's what she deserves?

reply

So, this post didn't age well!!

reply

Ha, my thoughts exactly.

reply

Why? She's washed up. Nobody cares about her. It's all about Taylor Swift now.

reply

Is it? Thanks for the pop culture lesson. I suppose winning an Oscar and releasing the longest running number one single on the digital download charts for a female artist (Shallow, if you're a fact checker) equates to being washed up these days.

I think she has a little more steam left in her career yet.

reply

Don't know about some Estonian singer, but her Bad Romance look got me thinking that she was ripping off Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons, a 1980s New Wave Band. (Those were my single, night-club days...)

Apparently I wasn't the only one:

Since she's worked with Tony Bennett, she seems to have adopted a more conventional lounge singer look in her public appearances.

You're probably thinking of Roisin Murphy. Murphy designed all of her outfits herself, and Lady Gaga ripped them off wholesale and was credited with creating the "signature look" that made her famous. Some examples:

Other artists she ripped off were Grace Jones, Annie Lennox and Bette Midler. Both Jones and Midler called her out on it, too.

Someone said below that the post didn't age well. I disagree. Lady Gaga is completely washed up now. Not even the fake media hype about her being a "shoe in" for The Oscars helped.

YOU CAN T RIP OFF OR STEAL A LOOK...CLOTHS AND MAKEUP...SERIOUSLY...STUPID THOUGHT...I AM NO GAGA FAN,BUT THESE COMMENTS WONT AGEWELL EITHER,SHE IS AROUND FOR THE LONG HAUL..

reply

You dumbass...she's bigger than ever..

😂😂

reply

I was going to say the same thing , without the insult

😈😈

Only thirty-three years old with a net worth of approximately $300 million. Oscar winner. Pure failure, tragedy, and humiliation right there.

reply

Oh the indignity!!

It's weird though right? What do people get out of saying someone who is obviously successful is washed up? Are they jealous or does it just irk them that someone they don't like continues to do well? As Jim said, people are strange.

reply

OMG, like, fer sure! We're, like, totally jelly, herp derp!

Why do sycophants continue to idolize a hack who owes her entire career to the more talented and creative people that she shamelessly ripped off and never, ever gave credit to? Is it because they're too immature to realize that the artists they grew up with loving weren't necessarily as creative or talented as they thought they were? When I was 12, I was also an idiot who thought that all those one hit wonders of the 1980s I heard on the radio were the best artists ever until I learned who their (better) influences were and listened to those better artists instead. I grew up. When will you?

reply

Wow, atomicgirl just turned into nuclearwoman! Run for your lives!!!!!

I don’t know, she’s a pop artist, pop music is fun, not something to start calling people idiots and sycophants for enjoying. She must really burn your toast for you to unload like that two months after the last reply. That’s impressive hate.

Artists get ideas from others all the time and just put their unique spin on it, like Tarantino did with "The Hateful Eight," which was inspired by a half-hour 1960 episode of The Rebel. Heart did it with their song "Barracuda," which was inspired by a Nazareth riff from "This Flight Tonight." Both Tarantino and Heart greatly improved upon the lesser pieces that inspired them.

I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga by any stretch, but she's good-looking and entertaining, so I caught a documentary on her and came away from it having more respect for her because it showed her great dedication and diligence. People who cry about her (and others') success are just envious, which is pathetic.

reply

She is nowhere near as big as she was in 2008-2011 though

reply

I'm certain she cries into her pillow every night.

reply

Sure!

reply

She most certainly does cry into her pillow every night. After all, this is the halfwit who warbled, "I live for the applause," not, "I live for the money." For a Lady Gaga fan, you don't seem to know much about your favorite artist.

No doubt filming movies (excluding the Hong Kong film industry, who have a crazy work rate) provides a lighter schedule than working musical concert tours nonstop. Given her ongoing medical concerns, she needed to find a way to slow down without sacrificing her body or mind.
