Ever wondered what the least popular Simpsons episode of all time might be? Well apparently it’s the 2012 episode in which Lady Gaga made an appearance.
Or at least that’s the conclusion of one fan, programmer Kevin Wu, who has measured the popularity of the long-running show via his website Graph TV.
The site, which works out the popularity of hit TV shows via data it collects from the Internet Movie Database, shows that the show is not as well-liked as it once was in earlier series.
However the 2012 episode Lisa Goes Gaga – in which the Applause singer attempts to help boost Lisa’s self-esteem during a trip to Springfield – ranks lower on the graph than any other instalment.
The episode not only Lisa who ended up having a profound effect on Gaga, causing her to ditch her flamboyant wardrobe, but also featured a memorable moment when the singer shared an unexpected snog with Marge at the family kitchen table.
It wasn’t all bad news for the show, though, as some of its older episodes proved far more popular – with 1996’s Homer The Smithers, in which Homer takes over as Mr Burns’s assistant, coming out on top of the graph.
