A strong voice and musical talent is a rarity when it comes to pop and dance music.

Gaga would own Madonna if both of them were told to sing live on stage for two hours with just an instrument and no backing track, dancers or props to help them out. Even though Gaga's tours are always big productions, she doesn't necessarily need all the frivolous stuff to entertain people. Her stripped back performances always garner the best reviews.

Madonna is the opposite. She needs all the bells and whistles to entertain the middle age queens who pay her overpriced tickets to watch her sing to a backing track. All she can do is strum a few basic chords on the guitar for two minutes during a two-hour show. She's never played any instruments on any of her albums. And yet her fans call her a musician, lol. She's a 58-year-old Britney.

Gaga's Oscar performance blew Madonna's amateur high school production out of the water. Have you seen Madonna's live performance of You Must Love Me? She struggles to sing even the basic notes. It's a good job the voters had already chosen Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber as the winners before watching her performance.

When I read you on the Madonna forum I knew you belong here. Gaga is over, Madonna was more successful in the first 8 years of career than gaga, Superbowl is just Gaga trying to revive her career. She is over since 2012. She has no wonderful voice, to scream all over the place? tons of singers can do that, annoying vocal fry? Is that talent?

Gaga deserves her fame and you know it. She has been dedicated to music since childhood. 4 years old and she can play piano and sing. Not easy and takes talent. Let's hear Madonna on the piano and guitar shall we.

She has talent but I think Madonna made better music in her hay day and early 2000's, especially when Lady Gaga straight up copies Madonna (born this way sounds almost identical to express yourself). She sings better, maybe performs better too and I don't care for both but I much prefer 80's Madonna, Lucky Star, Into the Groove, Vogue etc.. much better in my opinion, and her Confessions on a Dance Floor album is one I actually really enjoy and I mostly listen to alt rock and classical (but I do love 80's pop/disco) past that album though I do not like her music. I don't find Lady Gaga's music catchy, which is what pop is meant to be. Poker face was a very annoying song in my opinion, only song I have heard of hers that I didn't mind was Perfect Illusion but I don't think it's anything great either.
Out of all the female pop acts though I think Gaga deserves the limelight more than others, you can see she's quite hardworking and somehow I don't find her as trashy as Beyonce, who thinks she's some kind of god.
