If all the morons ...

... on these message boards were as good at psychiatric diagnosis as they think they are, this young lady would have been dead from an eating disorder years ago. Have you actually READ the diagnostic criteria for an eating disorder? And do you think you are so telepathic that you know the intimate details of her personal life to know whether she meets those diagnostic criteria? Get a life.

FYI, anorexia and bulimia are rampant throughout Hollywood. According to all of the celeb biographies my wife reads, almost all women make claims of this being an issue at some point in their careers, although they don't usually disclose that fact until their careers are behind them. Furthermore, they heavily imply that it's a well known fact in the industry that both men AND women just take bulimia as part of the cost of show business.

She must be having some success dealing with it, because she looks a little better in S3.

Dealing with what? Being a normal eater?

Burk48917: And you are naive enough to believe that websites with celeb bios actually understand psychiatry?

reply

I reread my post, and I didn't make any of those claims, so maybe you should reread it too. Also, I think you meant psychology.

I quote you: "According to all of the celeb biographies my wife reads, almost all women make claims of this being an issue at some point in their careers." You made the claims. Psychology and psychiatry both can diagnose mental illness. You apparently don't know the difference.

reply

I was referring to books she has read that were extensive authorized biographies, you made the huge leap that they were simple bios from websites. Also, psychiatry is a practice in which doctors typically use medication to treat illnesses, because they are doctors and can write prescriptions. Behavioral issues like bulimia are almost always approached by psychologists. There are always exceptions to the rule, but for the most part I'm right.

So let me make sure I understand you. You trust a non-medical writer's understanding of medical disorders? As for the difference between psychiatry and psychology, psychiatry is ALMOST ALWAYS involved in the treatment of eating disorders because there are so many medical complications. That's not to say psychologists are not involved, but you clearly don't have a clue about the difference. Take two minutes to read the Wikipedia article on eating disorders. Most third graders can understand it, but I have my doubts that you can.

Hey bro, I couldn't decide if you were just ignorant or just bad at trolling,so I took a minute to look at some of your other posts, and it appears you try very hard to be a douchebag as often as possible, so I'm going to bid you farewell. And I'm going to just leave you with the irony of you shitting on what you consider unreliable references from websites and book, yet you just pointed to Wikipedia as a go to for solid facts. Have fun being you with someone else, I'm out.

reply

You prefer a non-medical writer to Wikipedia for your "expertise" on psychiatry. My title to this thread fits you perfectly. Of course you're "out". You have no defense for your comments and you can't even understand a Wikipedia article. And I'm not your "bro".
