If she manages to get in a respected film with a great role yeah she could be like Natalie Portman. Maybe the rejection she has had as a teen idol is a sign that she would a better adult actress even though she is young.
She should take her failure as a teen idol as sign that her career doesn't go in that direction and look for more adult and complex parts.
I agree sarizonana. Her career obviously did not work as a "teen idol" It didn't work for her, and as she is getting older it makes sense to move in a different direction now. I'm glad her upcoming roles are more mature.
The best things are last
Yes two big failures : Mirror Mirror and The Mortal Instruments I'm sure told her that being a teen idol wasn't for her and she would be much more successful as an adult actress with more serious stuff.
I'm glad she realized that and is now going for more adult parts, I'm sure right now she is a little frustrated that the quick enter into the business in a young adult franchise didn't work or she couldn't sell the image of a teen star. But her career as an adult actress will work much better for her.
I'd cast her in a serious period piece, if I was a director probably I'd make a Borgias film just for her, Lily would be a wonderful Lucretzia or she could play Mary Boleyn.
Or maybe Lolita If someone decided to make a new version of that story and last a really good love story set in war times.
All are adult parts which require a young actress
Personly I think she'll end up on a cable Television show sooner or later. And that's not an insult, a hit television show can be good for a career.
