shareI would like to see some tears with all of that crying she's doing! It really would make it look more realistic if she could actually produce some tears; maybe the series producers can help her out a little bit.
shareAre you serious?
shareYes, I am serious! Have you not seen actors cry on TV and in movies? Why should there be fake crying with no tears; that would be like an elementary school play. In the big leagues, you need to look real and have tears when you do that much crying. Her acting was actually good this time, but it would have looked real with the addition of tears.
shareI might not have paid attention once or something, but every time I saw her cry her eyes were like faucets.
shareWell, I guess your belief that you saw tears is a testament to Cait’s much improved acting this time, because there were actually no tears: I checked again to make sure before I made my response to your comment. The only thing that could have been considered tears was the fact that her face was wet when BJR was attempting to choke her. There were no watery eyes, no tears streaming down the face, no red eyes. When they cut back to her face when she and Jamie embraced, her face is completely dry. For the rest of the scene, there are no tears or watery eyes. Yes, I give it to her, she really sounds as though she is truly crying and is very distraught; but there are no tears. Even when BJR escorts her out of the prison cell, her face is still completely dry: no watery eyes, no tear tracks, no red eyes from crying, no swollen eyes or face from excessive crying; nothing.
If Cait could not produce tears on cue, which a lot of actors can't, then the show should have provided some. Showing actual tears is just part of what is done to make the performance look real; fake tears, fake blood, prosthetic body parts, fake scenery, etc. Again, I say that her performance was good; I just would have believed it if there had been tears to prove she was actually crying. It's all part of what’s done to make the production look real on a professional level. This is obviously something that just slipped by the production team.
You may say that this did not bother you, which is fine; but it did bother me. It lessened the value of the scene for me because that is one of the things I was expecting to see because she was crying so fervently. This is not necessarily Cait’s fault; I blame the producers and the production team for that oversight; they should have done something to remedy the situation.
You're watching on a CRT television, right?
Great white sharks are attracted to death metal music.
You're being facetious, right. I was impressed that not only so the tears fall, thy well up in her eyes and splash down like water over a dam.
shareYes! And Golden Globe too
