Surprisingly impressed with her acting in Salem

I am very, very impressed by her acting in Salem. she's perfect for the role. I love it!

I agree! She has just the right amount of sex appeal and dark flare to pull off a manipulative and tortured character like Mary.

In the middle of the season on netflix. She's a perfect mixture of revolting evil and sensitive sexiness. I looked her up and was amazed to see her naked from Skins!

I’m enjoying her on Salem too. I’d previously seen Janet Montgomery in the movie Black Swan and TV shows Merlin and Human Target – though I enjoyed her in both, I felt she was kind of wasted in those and they didn’t allow her to show off her acting skills much. I’d then discovered she was in this show called Salem – which was originally scheduled to start on TV here last year sometime, I think, but never actually made it to broadcast (which I was disappointed about). Thankfully, though, it’s started on TV here this year and I’m quite into it.

I’m also glad to see that not only is Janet the lead in a series finally, but also that she gets to show that she *is* capable of giving captivating performances. There’s certainly something otherworldly in the way she portrays Mary Sibley. Do they do something with her eyes or are they just naturally like that? I find them both mesmerizing and unnerving at the same time. I like her calmness and that she’s not always yelling (I get so bored of characters yelling angrily – like they think that it’s scary, when in fact it has the opposite effect ). She has a ‘quiet menace’ to her and seems to have perfected the ‘steely gaze’. She’s quite creepy at times, which is awesome – as I enjoy seeing how strong she is as a character (although her feelings for Shane West’s character do make her seem ‘vulnerable’ at times).

I’m just glad I’m finally getting to see this series and a weekly fix of Janet Montgomery on my TV screen.
