Looks very European

I would've guessed he was a Brit actor doing an American accent too like Daniel Rafcliffe in Kill Your Darlings...I was watching him and thinking, wow - his American accent is good! Turns out he's actually American. That name though - looks like he has Dutch origins.

Anyways I haven't been mesmerized by an actor's beauty in a long while...Dane in Kill Your Darlings did me in.

How exactly does he look European? I mean, are there certain physical features that distinguish Europeans from Americans that you have noticed?

reply

He probably has Belgian ancestors.
The difference between Dutch and Belgian names is, most of the time, the Dutch would have spelled it as 'de Haan' instead of 'deHaan'.
With space is Dutch, no space is Belgian.

Thanks, that helps.

True, Europeans have that you know what, like you know, I don't know how to explain look.

He has that typical white European look because he's obviously of European descent----he's weird-looking, but with a very distinctive look (looks real young for his age with a cute boyish look) and he has these big, beautiful expressive eyes just right for playing in horror movies. I like the fact that he's not your typical-looking Hollywood leading man,though---he's a nice break from the usual hollywood-type cookie-cutter mold types you see onscreen. I'm guessing that his name's Dutch, though I don't know for sure.

He looks Dutch, German

reply

Hehe, how do you look American? You are European settlers all of you..

reply

idk how to explain it but a lot to times i can look at a pic of a woman and tell if she's european or american.

I just saw the trailer for Tulip Fever and assumed he was English. He has those bags under his eyes that English people sometimes have (Jude Law, Adam Campbell, the dude from Catherine Wheel)
