Her leaving Spartacus

She or her management has to be the most stupid people to leave the Spartacus series.

She left the show because she became of importance in season 1 and somewhat in the prequel. This possibly made her over confident and she thought she could get more money out of production because of her importance in the show and her being the audiences ?eye candy? plus the fact that the show had already lost another main actor (andy whitfield/Spartacus) and couldn?t afford to lose another one. Yet such a premature assumption because they ended up replacing her anyways lol. A stupid career decision on her part because: A) She is just starting out and this was the first major role of her career and she decided to drop out over money ? had she completed the show, she would have gained more fame and respect for her role and it would have led to many future successes C) Since she only saw the show halfway thru, Hollywood is not going to take her as seriously because she?s considered a risk? someone that might ask more from production if she gains a bit of importance in her role. It is so irritating that she made such a stupid decision of leaving Spartacus because she for sure would have landed more great roles after the completion of Spartacus. Also at the time, she thought she was becoming of importance because she assumed she had landed a recurring role in CSI.. well it?s a few years later and she was only featured in 2 episodes lol. No one wants to hire a quitter, especially a quitter that leaves a show over money. Her being newer to the industry, this was such a stupid move and is the result of over confidence and probably bad management who thought she could squeeze out more cash. It sucks because she is so beautiful and a great actress and did such a good job in season 1 and the prequel. I also thought was by far, the superior Naevia. Naevia 2 didn?t hold my attention as much. Although the character itself changed so much from season 1 to 2 because of unfortunate events, it still would have been better to see Naevia 1 (Lesley-Ann Brandt) carry out the completion of the character in the show.

Sad she left and it looks like her replacement ended up reaping the benefits. Honestly I had no clue they replaced the actress until I had a look on here.

As for her asking for more money she really needed to get real because she was on Spartacus not Lost. Diva like behaviour on shows like this won't be tolerated because they don't have the endless amount of cash that the huge blockbuster shows can afford to shake out.

Very true. I agree with you 100%

She still needs to make money. Acting is her job, and actresses are often incredibly underpaid compared to their male co-stars. Jennifer Lawrence recently wrote a scathing editorial about it. Usually when female talent asks for more money, they're labelled a diva and difficult to work with. And unfortunately women have a shorter shelf life in the film business than men do - so a lot of them want to make as much money as they can while they're still young.

LAB leaving Spartacus was one of the poor decisions I've ever seen. The character who replaced her was so out of place and you could never sympathize with her because you never saw what she went through, we only saw was LAB went through.

She should have stuck around and reaped the rewards.

Not exactly sure how her replacement "ended up reaping the benefits". Each of their careers are full of small parts on TV shows.

Ironic thing is another girl (Jessica Lucas) was added to Gotham who played a similar role to the one Brandt had the season before.

I think as well that she may have taken any opportunity to get work in America. The Australia/New Zealand film industry is incredibly small, and most actors there are looking for a chance to get over to America and break into the industry there. So Lesley has CSI:NY and a couple of films over in America, and presumably she was asking for more money to justify flying back and forth - since she would remain in America in between seasons and look for work there. And if she's living in LA, then the cost is probably pretty high - and she'd need more money to be able to continue to live there. So if Spartacus wasn't willing to pay, she had to leave.

Wow, a reasonable response on the IMDB board. :)
