This girl ...

.... truly brings the bad soap opera feel to The Flash. Absolutely cringe worthy in every scene with him.

I know the scripts are dumb as rocks and her part is written in by the by the marketing department for grrrls, but she's making sure to let us know how dumb every single line is.

reply

Totally disagree. ...but if you just want to hate, go elsewhere.

reply

Hard to disagree. Between this and The Arrow, they really like very pretty and horribly written love interests.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Plus the first crossover...she was slutting up ready to bang Oliver Queen, while still with her fiancee, but lusting for 'The Flash'? SMDH....Then towards the end of S1...her & Eddie are over...buthes ready to propose...but he goes off on his own for something and she demands to know if he's despondent over her...yada yada.. I'm like "chick..u want other dudes, the flash.. why you care?" She's the most annoying female on the dc-verse. The Arrow girls are more tolerable than her by miles

reply

I agree, but this show and Arrow loves Girls like this. Beautiful, but annoying and useless.

reply

I couldn't agree more. I hate every single scene she is in. And even the important scenes I just play forward the video. I just cannot bear to see her.

reply

Could not agree more! She's cringe-worthy, and there were so many times I wanted to just give up on the show 'cause of her. The annoyance with her character peaked with the whole "Why are you keeping a secret from me, Eddie; how dare you?!?!" towards the end of Season 1. Like seriously?? You know he's a cop, and there will honestly be times when he can't divulge details from his work (including working with the Flash) -- and you're going to have a hissy fit like some child because you're kept in the dark. And worst of all, SHE kept her meetings with the Flash secret from him for ages before revealing she met him in person! Like ughhhh, Eddie was such a sweetheart and could have done way better than her. But alas, I suppose it's too much to hope she'll be killed off sometime soon, since Iris West is apparently the main love interest of Barry Allen in the comics 😥

But seriously, what is up with the CW and it's horrible love interests in superhero shows? I recall the original debut of the annoying/b!tchy/cringe-worthy love interest with Lana Lang from Smallville. I would have hoped all the negative feedback for her character would inspire the CW to write better female leads, but nope, they just got more annoying as Arrow and the Flash came about. Pity.

reply

Add me to the list of her admirers. She makes Iris West a very believable character for a science fiction program. This series is obviously targeted for a teenaged audience - one a bit younger I think than what the Marvel series' are aimed toward. I'll admit to not being a fan of the love arcs in any show, but I don't think they're without some value in this one. If anything, Season One is a bit heavy on the love bit but I still enjoyed the contributions of all the actors. The season finale was a very well-acted one.

reply

She's hot though.
