There’s a very limited market for people with Irish accents. Katie even said that she’s glad she wasn’t pigeon-holed as an ‘Irish actress’. She says that most people think she’s British because she’s never played an Irish character and for the fact that she lives in London. Also she’s been able to get more offers because of that. It is a shame but she is right. The market for Irish roles are limited and few.
