Colt's roots

I read on another website that many of this guy's fans believe his family originated in Scotland or Ireland.
I did a wee bit of research and in fact, his name is probably Old Norse.
A person of this name was found in local Rolls in Bedfordshire, England as early as the 14th century, and the first American recorded with the name of Haines was located in Virginia in the 17th century.
Wonder if Colton might be able to trace his roots down to this first recorded family in Virginia?
