Breaking Bad's Weak Link

I think he's just fine. He's not Emmy-worthy but he's far from awful.

I couldn't agree more. I was just talking about this to some friends the other day, everyone agreeing. Nothing against him personally, but he is an absolutely horrible actor. Definitely the weak link.

How is he a bad actor or the weak link? He really has CP(a milder case then what is shown on BB) so is he bad at acting like he has CP when he actually has it? I really saw a bond between Walter and Walter Jr. and how Walters cancer, Hank almost getting killed and then killed, and Walter then being outed as a major dealer affected him. If you are expecting a great moving gritty performance from a character who is supposed to have pretty severe CP you had unrealistic expectations. RJ Mitte acted just like someone with more severe CP and was believable in how he reacted to the situations he was put in, his brain could not process everything fully like the other characters hence he is not going to act like the other characters or give those intense emotions.

I agree--I think he is great on the show, and totally believable!

everytime he comes on an episode i can do nothing but cringe. nothing against him personally but his acting is terrible and annoying on breaking bad. id rather watch an episode of skylar and marie whining than watch his acting on bb.

Well, he DOES have CP, a-hole, so how's he going to manage playing someone without it? And you don't know him, so how can you say "he is just playing himself"?

Such comments are typical of the morons who demean Mitte for his disease or criticize his acting. He's a fine actor. There wasn't a false moment in his portrayal of Walter Jr. I believed him totally: his contempt for his father for fearing chemo, his joy at his dad's diagnosis of remission, his sharp sense of humor, his anger, his painful incredulity when learning the truth about his father, his final anguished rage at him...Jr.'s rollercoaster journey through 5 seasons was expertly done by Mitte. On top of all that, he made us like Jr. - in great part b/c of Mitte's appeal as an actor.
