Ostegenisis Imperfecta

Hi, my name is Laura. I am 56 years old and have O.I. I also had a son who also had O.I. He has since passed away. We were both patients as children at Shriners Hospital in Chicago. We both have had many surgeries to fix broken bones, mostly femur fractures, in which the shish kabob method of rodding was used. Have you had surgeries using the same method? Were or are you a patient at Shriners. Do you and your family find it somewhat amazing that a lot of medical personal that you in counter have no idea what O.I. is. I would love to converse with you about how you deal with O.I. in your everyday life.. I am sure we have had similar experiences, both as having O.I. and I can also share my experience as a parent of a child with O.I., which gives one a totally different outlook as I am sure your mother can attest to. I am sure you are very busy, but if you care to make contact please feel free. I really love you on "The Middle" and just so you know the first time I saw you on the show I knew you had O.I. without knowing anything about you, I feel confident that you know what I am talking about. Hope to hear from you soon. Laura. Sorry for any typos or autocorrect bloopers.
