Is there really any chance his career could continue?

I ask this because, even though he is currently employed on a substandard network sitcom that has worn out it's welcome (IMO) he has a debilitating medical condition which:

-stunts his growth
-makes his voice sound really strange
-makes him lurch from side to side when he walks
-makes his bones really brittle
-possibly many other things that the general public are not aware of

I am just being realistic here. Can he possibly continue his acting career into adulthood, or will he become physically ill at some point that will prevent him from continuing the whole Hollywood thing? Cuz that would really suck for him, know what I mean?

I wonder these things when I see people with obvious abnormalities and physical disabilities. It isn't just famous people in TV or film, I wonder that about ANYONE I see that is "unusual" or "out of the ordinary" in appearance. I wonder what they go through, if they are suffering at all, and what their quality of life could possible be like.

I wonder those things!

maybe, maybe not. Guess we'll find out in the future.

Voice over work would be great for him. He could try to do some live action, but voice over work would be easier.

Well have you ever seen those "cute child stars that grew up ugly" specials?
I'm sure he'll be pretty high up on the list-- and they usually get some of the former child stars to be commentators.

So there's that.

He has the least severe type of OI and it's obviously not that debilitating if he is able to appear on the show which is a lot of work over a long period (and we have never seen him with a cast or anything).

I think he will be able to continue if he wants to. He looks much younger than he is (he's 16?!) which is a bonus and will be even more so once he turns 18. I think he's a pretty good actor, but most importantly he has a lot of experience. he probably won't be up for leading male in action movies, but he could definitely get a lot of "character roles".

I disagree with your assessment that the Middle is a sub standard sitcom that has worn out its welcome!

As far as the future goes it is up in the air. He may be able to find roles or he may leave acting and do something different altogether.

I'm just hoping that his parents have saved his money to set him up with a budget to live on for the rest of his life...

I have to take your question at face value, and not think that you're attempting to be crass, or snarky. I don't see a picture, or a user name for you, or I'd send you a pm.

If you truly want to know what it's like to live with debilitating, and possibly fatal condition, send me a note.

I have a midline brain tumor, COPD, chronic Prostatitis, I'm on oxygen, use a Wheelchair, and have a supra pubic catheter. I'm not dying, the tumor hasn't grown since it was found, Praise the Lord!

It's okay to ask me questions. People with disabilities may have things wrong that you can't see. Please don't assume that just cause someone can walk, that they're not somehow broken.

I could write about this forever, but I won't. You can volunteer at places that serve the disabled. Due to the extreme need, I'd recommend the DAV.

One last thing, people sometimes think that they have to do something 'over the top'.... That's not true,, not at all. The simplest things can make a difference.

I thank you for having the courage to ask. Anyone else can ask me too.

Sincerely,

Shannon

His show is a hit so he's probably set for life.

And he could always be a voice actor.
