Am i the only one who thinks he doesn't look like a little 12 year old?

First of all i wanna say: Atticus Shaffer is one of the best actors still alive and sure the best thing about The Middle. I know, people always are like "wtf Atticus is 18, he looks 12." but in my opinion he just looks like a small teenage boy. For example: Brick is 15 currently in The Middle which is realistic for me. I mean in face he looks like a teenager, he seems like a teenager also not like a small child. I even feel like if he was way taller, he would look older than his age.

I kinda can't understand how people always only think tall = old, small = young and don't even look at the face + what the person seems like.
