This guy is so one dinemtional as Spartacus

Im up to Spartacus Vengeance. Absolutely loved Blood and Sand. Now I'm fine with the fact that they changed the actor since Whitfield died and all but this new guy acts nothing like the Spartacus from season 1 at all. He has one facial expression. All he does is put on a serious face and delivers his lines with no personality at all. Whitfield added humour, rage, sadness and determination. He was a REAL character. I'm not done with Vengeance yet but I sure hope McIntyre gets better. Because he is so non existent I see Manu Bennett as the lead and no one else. At least he gives some depth to his character

Liam gets better in War of The Damned, especially the finale, in which I think he delivered his best performance as Spartacus

This is exactly why I stopped watching the show way back after Blood and Sands. I loved B&S, I built to love Spartacus' character. I tried watching the next season but I tried so hard to watch it but I couldn't connect with the characters, the new Spartacus character was so bland and boring.

I only own B&S and God's of the Arena on bluray, where I always skip the others.

Andy Whitfield was a hard act to follow no matter who they chose

Im sorry you feel that way...I hope you continued to watch until the finale. I love Liam as Spartacus and I also loved Andy; both are great.

Liam gets better as he gets more comfortable in the role. By the end of Vengeance you can see the difference, and by the end of the series you might have a completely different opinion.
Give it a chance, and remember Andy gave Liam his blessing. Andy wanted the show to go on, and speaking for myself, I am glad they did.

I completely agree with you. You hit the nail on the head. I couldn't get into the new Spartacus. Although I have to admit, by War of the Damned....I love him. He finally fits in his character. I admit, I only watched it for Gannicus ;)

Liam is rather speech-y in all his line delivery.
