Terrible choice for the Terminator movie

In the original, Michael Biehn was a great choice to play Kyle Reese as he actually looked like someone who had been fighting a war, not getting much sleep or food, etc. For Genisys they get this guy who looks like a pumped up gym rat douchebro. Sorry, but people in the middle of a desperate war where food and supplies are scarce would not look like that.

No disrespect to the actor, he was just a bad casting choice.

Yup. And his acting skills

So I guess it goes with the entire cast then. John Connor quite buff as the rest of the soldiers in the movie. It goes from a brown eyes little boy in t2 to a blue eyes in the 5th. Women as soldiers?

Arnie too old maybe?
Emilie Clarke very petite compared to those 3 giants and no physical credibility in her body shape to be a warrior who has been trained her entire life with a terminator. Don't get me wrong, she is gorgeous but as a soldier meeh!

on and on.

That's funny because I rewatched the first 2 movies not so long ago. And I was shocked at the acting skills of Biehn. Awful!! True that maybe he was physically more accurate for such role but for the rest the acting was crappy. In the 5th I was more wondering how they could get all those vehicles, choppers, guns, uniforms. And then I thought, Ok, they have all the guns and the mean and tools to fight back the machines so i guess they have the soldiers that goes with that too because let's be honest if they are in a desperate war where food and supplies are scarce it's a lost war for sure.

I don't think any of the casting choices for Genisys were good, really. The guy playing John Connor looks nothing like any of the others, and has no charisma. I like Emilia Clarke but she's about as menacing/tough in Genisys as a kids TV presenter.

I thought Biehn's acting was fine. He's not an amazing actor but for a low-budget 80s sci-fi film he worked.

Biehn was the *beep* classic performance with presence. You believed he was some *beep* up future soldier. Jai Courtney is just another Australian dudebro with zero charisma. Most new actors today are just varieties of bland.

Horrendous choice, not that the movie would have been good without him though. Crap all around.

The funny thing is Hamilton and Clarke had the exact same age for the movie though Clarke look younger. She has that kind of angelic face. I could get over it in the movie. Her acting was ok imo but not for her shape. Not accurate for me.

I had my beef about Jason being JC but at the end I could get over it too.

I am going against all but my fav was of course Arnie and Jai. I heard nothing good about him. In a way or another I've seen all of his movies not for him but I remember I thought "Alright! Again that dude that everyone seems to hate" and I honestly don't understand the rudness toward him now and think it's quite unfair. He has been a surprise in the movie. Ppl seems to be I don't know angry with him for Die Hard and pick on him for the meaningless details. The movie was bad, Bruce even worse. He was the only think watchable in the movie. It was in 2013 meanwhile Felony, Unbroken, The Water Diviner and TG happened.

Low-budget or not doesn't excuse bad or good acting. That would be the same to say "Blockbuster sucks, Indies are good" there is as much bad indies than blockbuster and vice versa. I saw several time ppl saying he was better than Courtney because of his physical shape (more accurate), better acting(meeeh utter bs to me). Biehn overacted and about the physical body shape I thought, and what if at that time Biehn was considered too bulky for the role? It's nowdays actors bulk up for roles. Before there was bodybuilders like Arnie for such roles and the rest. He was thiner yes true but not because it was accurate for the movie, it's his normal shape. He is the same in all his 80's movies. And I do remember a six pack too. i wouldn't be surprised at all that ppl considered him too bulky for the role at that time.

Emila Clarke on the other hand I thought was awful, quite Frankly Megan Fox or even Jessica Alba would have been better than her
