Ryan's a decent actor, but he's no James Spader.
Are they really giving him his own show? And wasn't he originally the bad guy that nearly destroyed Elizabeth Keene? Although, I love the way Lizzy got him back, he so deserved it. 😉

I read something about this too. I don't like the idea. If he is on a spinoff will they write him off the blacklist? I enjoy him on the blacklist and think it would be dumb to write him off. I probably would not watch a spinoff about just him.
shareI don't know if you have been watching the final episodes, but in the new show Famke Janssen would play the James Spader role and Eggold would be her "Liz"--according to Red, Tom Keen actually is the Janssen character's son, abducted at the age of 3.
shareI would hate to see him written off "The Blacklist". I truly enjoy his character.
Having said that, I am positive I would watch him in a spin-off rather than have him just disappear or killed off. I believe there is much to his character that could make a viable show. Is he James Spader? Of course not. Why would we expect him to be? "The Blacklist" is a strong show, and I love every character and storyline portrayed. I look forward to each episode. While James Spader is a great strength which gave the show credibility to give the series a shot at making it...The ensemble cast and writing have proven their own credibility to allow the series to be sustainable. This of course is my opinion, and I always respect the opinion and thoughts of others.
