that's funny. My husband is a hot German-Italian and his name is ... Bob. When we started dating I politely insisted on calling him Robert.
And Bob Morley's real name is Robert; he also sometimes goes by Bobby Morley. Absolutely no idea why he's going by Bob now.

Lol. It's his choice to use the name he wants, but I call him Bobby myself just because it sounds better to me. My dad is also named Robert, but people call him Bob. My mom calls him Robert. Whatever I think of 'Bob' as a stage name, I think of Sideshow Bob.
