Does anyone that's not a female teen listen to her music?

I don't get it. How does she get so much attention? How does she win so many awards? Industry politics? Her whining?

She's famous for getting used and then dumped by a bunch of A-list celebrities and then writing generic songs about it. Extracting semen from actors who then split seems an ignominious legacy.

I'm not female or a teen and I listen to her music.

reply

Do you like Katy Perry and John Legend too?

reply

I like Katy Perry and some of John Legend's music.

reply

I’m a grown man and I like her music.

My favorite music genres are metal, progressive rock and post-punk.

reply

Hahaha.

Sorry, couldn't be helped.

reply

Neither female nor teen and I like her music.

She gets attention for being a talented song writer and a skilled performer. Her being beautiful probably helped her get where she is. As far as people beyond teen females listening to her music-- I work as a wedding and corporate party DJ, and know with near certainty that if I play a Taylor Swift song, most guests will dance, and the energy in the room will increase. I see men and women from teen to 70+ smiling and dancing to her songs. I don't know how often they listen in their spare time, but they certainly recognize her music, and will come to the dance floor when her music is played.

reply

I don't know her that well. If the song doesn't repeat the word "never" I don't think I would know it was TF, and I kinda like her, at least for her looks.

reply

Keep in mind, they’ve been drinking. You could play Pop Goes the Weasel and they’d dance. Your anecdotal observation is not compelling.

reply

You've clearly never seen a DJ perform if you think the DJ can play any song and keep people dancing. It's especially difficult at something like a wedding or company gathering, where one musical misstep can alienate the crowd and kill the dance floor for good.

reply

I'm a mid 40s dude and I really like 1989/Reputation. Good pop music. Not a fan of hers before or after.

reply

Females who were teens during the late 00s (2007-2010) still probably listen to her, since she first came out during that time period.

reply

ITT Taylor Swift's fanbase is middle aged men

reply

No straight men, anyway.
