Dev Patel is going to be working with James Franco

Dev's got a new movie on his plate. Variety reports that he will be working with James Franco in "Cherry" which starts filming next month in San Francisco. And it looks like he's not being typecast. Glad to see him getting roles that will highlight and increase the talent he exhibited in Slumdog Millionaire. Way to go Dev!!

Good to see he stuck to his guns and didn't just go for any old s--tty role. Fair play to him.

This is wonderful I heard about this too! Well done Dev for choosing his film roles carefully! I read that Dev does NOT want to take on stereotypical film roles.

No he doesn't want to take on those type of roles. Dev's lady love Freida Pinto told former Daily 10 reporter Sal Masekela that she was proud of him for speaking out about what he faced as an Indian actor. Yet some folks on this board and other places seem to take some sort of thrill at pointing out that he is "jobless". Which in their opinion makes Dev not good enough to be with Freida who's been working quite a bit. I applaud Dev for sticking to his guns, especially after the Last Airbender debacle. Danny Boyle gave both Freida & Dev great advice during SDM. Hopefully this is the start of great things for Dev and I look forward to seeing him in lots of Indie films in the future.

Yes this should be interesting.I can't wait to watch this movie.Dev and James.I love James too.127 hours was really good.loved the part that he cut off his arm.James did a great job on that one, as well as all the other crew.it looked so realistic.

I never got around to seeing SDM when it came out back in 08' but when I did I was blown away. I definitely want to see more of Dev in the future and its good to hear that he chooses his work carefully and avoids the more stereotypical roles. I watched his work in The Last Airbender as well and he did a great job in my opinion.

WHAT DON'T YOU FVCKING UNDERSTAND?!?!

reply

If it's true, I can't wait! I love them both. And James must love the Slumdog crew - first Danny Boyle (127 Hours), then Freida Pinto (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and now Dev.
