Is she really gone from the Originals?

She left the show but will return as a guest from time to time.

In the episode airing on Nov 24, in fact.

She left mid season 1... no one ever revealed why. I believe it has something to do with the writers and JP, but they never said.

I feel as if they tried replacing her with more Hayley and Cami and the return of Mikael, Esther, Kol and Finn, but even that won't fill the hole she left. Unless she returns as a regular, the show will get cancelled.

There are two things that made The Originals so amazing. The "Always and Forever" trinity (Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah) and the Klaus and Rebekah dynamic, that no amount of Cami and Hayley could replace, and perhaps only more Elijah/Klaus could fix.

Couldn't agree more with all of that. Rebekah has always been awesome. Unlike most everyone ekse at one time or another, I don't ever recall getting tired or annoyed with her since she first entered TVD. She's dynamic, kicks ass, and so likable.

Yeah they seem to be trying desperately to make Hayley the lead female but it's not exactly working out IMO and season 2 has been terrible. I didn't even know she was leaving until that episode since I don't read social media or anything but was there anything about her leaving before the episode aired?

This is a shame. The actress who plays Haley can't act at all and Claire Holt was quite good. Her character is also so much better.

I like The Originals but i know what i'd choose given the choice between this show and working alongside David Duchovny.

Didn't she supposedly leave Originals because she wanted to be back in Australia with family? Then why did she sign up so fast to be on a tv series filmed in LA??? Not adding up.
